Total Life - S/T
T: "Yo, you robbing me? What tapes do you have there? That's good... That's good... OH SHIT TOTAL LIFE!"
Me: "Is it awesome?"
T: "Dude, it's like everything that you want Growing to be."
Keven Doria (Growing) conjures some thick walls of static on this Animal Disguise release.

Caves - s/t c15
Mind melting drones from Lexington nice guy Ben Allen (Wretched Worst, Benstances) on the now-defunct Blood Red Cassettes label. Side A features creeping war drums and malfunctioning short-wave static, while Side B holds a damaged guitar raga accompaniment for inter-stellar satellite beams. The whole thing plays out like the soundtrack for the deleted scenes of Apocalypse Now.

Ambient synth and drum machine meditations from Jason E. Anderson (2 Hands on Knobs, Brother Raven) on Seattle's Gift Tapes. Warm analog textures that would be equally at home in a nature documentary or a Sega Genesis game.

Ara - Toxic Motions
Killer spouse jazz from Trevor Tremaine (Hair Police, Sick Hour, Attempt, Eyes And Arms of Smoke) and Sara O'Keefe (Laloux, Eyes and Arms of Smoke) on Lexington's Rampart Tapes. Crashing, ominous percussion accompanied by choked, haunting sax and clarinet.
(thanks to K. Henny for the cassette)
